25-27 November 2024: Third General Meeting
All Working Groups continued their work throughout 2024 by meeting several times, online and in-person. The final hybrid meeting was the General Meeting, which took place from 25-27 November in Vilnius, Lithuania. During the General Meeting several meetings took place: Core Group, Communications Group and, most important, all Working Groups, which met at least twice
17-18 October 2024, Berlin (GER): Conference on intergenerational care in transnational families and meeting of Working Group 2
About 35 members of WG2 and some other interested participants gathered together in Berlin for a two-days meeting. The conference on transnational families and care, held on 17 October, gathered international scholars, practitioners, policy-makers and representatives from non-governmental organizations to discuss current issues related to intergenerational care across borders. Members of Working Group 1( “Kinkeeping within transnational families in a global and digital era”) gathered together online and discussed the ongoing current work within the WG and its multiple subgroups. 24 June – 03 July 2024: TraFaDy International Summer School
The summer school “Transnational childhoods in Europe” organised by the WG2 in collaboration with IOM at Odisee Campus Schaarbeek, gathered students, professionals, researchers and stakeholders for nine days of intense exchanges. 13-14 May 2024: Symposium by TraFaDy and MITRA on “Linking policy and academia: Transnational Families in Europe”
In a joint meeting of TraFaDy and IMISCOE MITRA around 25 scholars, researchers, practitioners, and policymakers working in fields related to migration, family, policy, and related disciplines came together for an intense exchange on the intersection of migration policies and transnational family dynamics in Europe. 10 May 2024: Working Group 3 in person meeting in Budapest

In this meeting, WG6 members discussed the impact of the New Migration Plan to transnational families, the situation of Ukrainian refugees and brainstormed about potential topics of the upcoming WG6 policy brief. The meeting was held online.
