Policy and impact – Effective policies supporting transnational families
5-6 March 2026 Budapest, Hungary
This two-day conference and working group meeting will host approximately 50 TraFaDy members from across the network’s various working groups. The event aims to consolidate insights and outcomes generated through the TraFaDy work to date, with a particular focus on identifying effective policies that support transnational families.
Important elements of the meetings will be:
- Taking stock and following up on the policy orientated work of the Working Groups
- Family reunification
- Remittances
- Key EU policies related to TNF
The meeting incorporates dedicated spaces for in-depth exchange, extended discussions, and possibilities to strengthen collaboration among members.
The event will also feature a cooperation with IMISCOE Standing Committee on Migrant Transnationalism (MITRA). MITRA will play a key role , providing opportunities for early-career scholars to engage with leading experts and deepen their understanding of research on migrant transnationalism.
