A short introduction
Logo TraFaDy

Who are we? TraFaDy is a network based on COST Action 21143 and aims to deepen the knowledge of the growing, rapidly changing phenomenon and dynamics of transnational families (TNF). We bring together researchers and stakeholders from different countries and disciplines to address the need for transnational insights and to formulate policy- and practice-oriented recommendations with an impact on international, national, sub-local and local practices.

TraFaDy is structured into four thematic working groups (WGs), which address critical areas of increasing importance in research, practice and policy. In addition, two horizontal working groups drive methodological progress and consolidate the recommendations of the other WGs into recommendations for stakeholders and policymakers.

Several meetings of Working Groups and General Meeting in Vilnius
All Working Groups continue their work throughout 2024 by meeting several times, online and in-person. We will increasingly have joint meetings of Working Groups to strengthen the collaboration and use synergies. In November 2024, the next General Meeting will take in Vilnius, Lithuania. The meeting will be hosted by the Institute of Educational Sciences and Social Work at Mykolas Romeris University. All Working Groups will have the chance to have intense discussions. Additionally, there will be meetings of the Core Group.
